Today in SOAR we began talking about what effective questions are and how to ask them. We determined that the way we ask a question changes based on who we are talking to or what we are trying to find out. As homework, students need to read the introduction to section 4 in their SOAR book.
In Green Book we discussed how to choose appropriate measures of center and variation for a set of data. We also discussed how what we choose depends on if our data is skewed or symmetrical. Homework for today is 10.3E worksheet
In Red Book we are revisiting slope and adding a few extra touches to it such as when is slope 0 or undefined and are officially labeling it with "m" as a way to prepare for the next step, which would be writing linear equations in slope intercept form. Homework for today is 13.2 practice A and puzzle time.
On a side note, Summer Bridge book money ($6.50) is due May 18 AND there is a Middle School Dance on May 22 from 6-8pm. Cost is $8 if you prepay by May 20 or $10 at the door.
